The second single from Prāta Vētra’s 13th studio album "Pūķa lietošanas instrukcija" has received its own music video, directed by the band’s drummer Kaspars Roga, and performed by Prāta Vētra together with actor Kārlis Arnolds Avots.
Once again, the video for the album’s second single "Gribēju būt rokstārs" is directed by drummer Kaspars Roga. This time, the entire band appears in the video, alongside the young and talented actor Kārlis Arnolds Avots, model Rebeka Paula Apsalone, and other striking characters.
Kaspars Roga shares the idea behind the video: "I feel like today’s world is full of too many Ķeņči — too many comfortable, well-fed rock stars. So I wanted to remind myself of those wild kids from the backyard who wouldn’t let anyone tell them what to do or how to think. Young, creative, and driven musicians who saw no limit to the horizon!"
Bringing the soul of the video to life alongside director Kaspars Roga were assistant director Helvijs Fiņķis, cinematographer Jānis Jurkovskis, and editor Gatis Belogrudovs. The artistic design of "Gribēju būt rokstārs" was led by Aivars Dambis and his team, while the visual characters—the rock star, the muse, the boy, the Ķeņči, and the Elvises — were created by Līva Drešere and Elizabete Džeina Rubene.
Kārlis Arnolds Avots shared his thoughts on appearing in the new Prāta Vētra music video: "It seems there’s no other band in Latvia that a young actor would more want to work with than Prāta Vētra. I grew up with their music, was born the same year as their legendary album "Veronika", and now I get to be a small part of the new "Pūķa lietošanas instrukcija". I can honestly say — another dream come true! And Roga is a powerful director—I’m looking forward to his return to the big screen!"
The band’s most experienced member in cinematic roles, guitarist Jānis Jubalts, describes participating in the new album’s videos as a great adventure: "First of all, thanks to the director who dreamed up such expressive characters! Kaspars is my favorite director — he always gets me into exciting little films, music videos, and all kinds of storylines. This time I got two important roles — in "Pirmajā dienā" I was a cosmonaut who sacrificed his tooth, and in "Gribēju būt rokstārs" I’m one of the Elvises helping the rock star and the muse escape. In each clip, we were so different, yet both stories are tied together by friendship, love, and music. I recommend everyone watch them and feel it for themselves," says Jānis Jubalts.
The band thanks everyone who contributed to the making of the music video!
