On May 12, 2025, Prāta Vētra (Brainstorm) presents their long-awaited new album "Pūķa lietošanas instrukcija". Following the first single "Pirmajā dienā" (On the First Day), the next track “Gribēju būt rokstārs” (I Wanted to Be a Rockstar) is now available on radio stations and major streaming platforms, as well as on vinyl and CD.
Renārs Kaupers expresses heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the making of the album: "A job well done! Thank you to everyone—ourselves, our families, our team, and all our friends and supporters! I’m truly moved—36 years and now our 13th album is here! We’re not a state institution or some kind of organization—we met in a backyard, and we’re still together, creating music. This album was dreamt up and recorded live, unlike the previous one made during the pandemic. The strength of the band lies in playing together, in the same time and space - something magical and beautiful has happened over the past two years, and now we’re ready to share it with your ears. Especially with such a fantastic album title – "Pūķa lietošanas instrukcija.""
The album was created during five creative sessions in Barcelona and recorded in studios in Stockholm and Riga under the guidance of the band’s long-time Swedish musical producer Povel Olsson. As always, the design of Prāta Vētra’s albums is overseen by the band’s keyboardist Māris Mihelsons. This time, the vinyl and CD design was created together with young designer Jurijs Lukijanisens.
"We decided to treat ourselves to a special gift for this significant occasion—a photo shoot with our world-famous friend Anton Corbijn. When we saw the photos, we instantly knew—we had our album cover! The painted wall we stumbled upon by chance in Barcelona looked just like piano keys, and each of us like a musical note. We also included documentary-style photos in the CD and vinyl design, taken with disposable cameras during the recording process," says Māris Mihelsons.
