Birthday party in Ventspils for Maris!

On Friday 3 August, the third BrainStorm gig of their “Skārda bungu tūre” tour took place in Ventspils, and turned out to be full of surprises, not only for the fans, but also for the musicians themselves. Together with the special guests, the BrainStorm management surprised Māris Mihelsons with birthday congratulations live on stage. All the fans joined in, raising the roof by cheering and singing the classic Latvian birthday song “Daudz baltu dieniņu”.

“This was truly unexpected and so heart-warming! Thank you all for coming to my birthday party!” said Māris jokingly, thanking the audience.

Once again, the guests of the show were the saxophonist and jazz artist Deniss Paškevičs, Arstarulsmirus with “Tur kaut kam ir jābūt”, the band Sudden Lights who are the special guests of the whole tour, the BrainStorm Gospel Choir, and Povel Olsson and Magnus Nilsson, guest musicians from Sweden.

In just one week’s time, on 11 August, BrainStorm will make their way to Daugavpils, where on the stage of the Lokomotīve Stadium, there will be a special performance of the song "Как я искал тебя"from the new album featuring Marina Kravets (Марина Кравец) alongside Renārs Kaupers. On 17 August, in Riga, at the Mežaparks Open-Air Stage, the “Skārda bungu tūre” tour will come to a close with one of the most epic gigs of this summer.

Tickets to the concerts are available via www.ekase.lv, or from the information centre at the Spice shopping centre, and from local box offices at the Culture Centres in various towns.
