An epic start to BrainStorm’s tour in Jelgava

On Saturday evening, in Jelgava, with overflowing emotions and an unprecedented number of visitors, BrainStorm played their first of the five “Skārda bungu tūre” tour gigs. With the great Latvian Song Festival still on their minds, the 28,000 visitors formed a massive choir in the Lielupe meadow, raising their voices in unison, not only for BrainStorm classics, but also for songs from their new album.

“We are so happy and so excited,” said the musicians after the gig, thanking their hometown for the hearty welcome.

As always, BrainStorm had prepared an impressive show, creating a special atmosphere with beautiful light effects, surprises, concert guests, and a programme rich with all-time favourite songs. When describing the gig, BrainStorm fans used such words as passionate, energetic, powerful, full of surprises, and breath-taking. Even the more experienced visitors were greatly impressed by the stage and the scenography, created especially for this concert by Kaspars Roga. The stage design and elements perfectly complemented the varied concert programme, with one of the most prominent moments being the performance of the song "The First Latvian on the Moon", an anthem played in the midst of thousands of glittering lights. The stage in Jelgava also saw the band “Sudden Lights” who are the special guests of the tour, the BrainStorm Gospel Choir, Edavārdi, and Povel Olsson and Magnus Nilsson, guest musicians from Sweden.

In just one week’s time, BrainStrom will take their tour to Valmiera, this time, rocking the Dīvaliņa meadows. The next gigs will take place in Ventspils, Daugavpils, and Riga. As mentioned at the press conference for the concert, at the BrainStorm gig in Riga, there will also be a performance from the Swedish group The Royal Concept.
