(BrainStorm/Renārs Kaupers)
nothing is always
and nothing is forever
but i have a moment
a moment to share with you
and we have a song
a song to sing together
to touch the wonder
to reach out for something that’s true
oh, we come as one
with the joy that it brings
let’s raise our voices
as the show begins
(BrainStorm/Renārs Kaupers, Shipsi)
i'll be a word
the first one
and that's how it started
a clock that goes backwards
before we parted
i'll be the fine spirit in the eyes of that fool
who chooses politeness instead of the true
i'll be a car racing madly with no destination
a boy who's addicted to his new play station
and i can resurrect the princess or king of morocco
john wrapping tenderly around his yoko
a gas station you can rob and blow up
a safe to be opened or left in the truck
oh, the day that i was touching your neck
is the one that i'll never ever forget
this is the day
to celebrate the end of the story
the day to reconquer my territory
life without you is small
for you i will climb, always ready to fall
the day to tell you i'm a little bit sorry
i am a phone waiting patiently for your, for your call
i'll be a flag that waves proudly above the heads of the nation
indian, african, arab or asian
for you and those that you have loved the most
i'll be the father, the son and the holy ghost
i'll do my best once again to get your attention
whatever you want with my best intentions
smoke on the water, fire in your hand
i'll be columbus screaming: „i see land!“
i am a phone waiting patiently for your, for YOUR CALL
(BrainStorm, Gustavs Butelis, Aleksandr Volk/Renārs Kaupers, Gustavs Butelis, Kristaps Krēsliņš, Santa Dimante, Elizaveta Rudenko)
it’s a cult
it’s a cult, sunday evenings on his bed
on his bed, lots of beer and hopes ahead
it’s like he’s racing
it’s not even close, he has to face it
bets are made
bets are made, now it’s only time to wait
time to wait or then baldly raise the stakes
it’s like he s racing
flags are waving
engines roaring, in our hearts it brings no peace
flippin’ through the latest news
impatience soon to be released
as crowd gets wild and yells, hey
‘cos they know how to do it well, hey
oh, they know how to do it well, hey
we all know how to do it well, hey
day by day
day by day, she’s showing off in trendy clothes
trendy clothes, she’s chasing winner like a ghost
it’s like she’s racing
she’s so far from goal, she has to face it
little miss
exquisite miss, the prize will be her lovely kiss
it is something that you surely shouldn’t miss
lags are waving
(BrainStorm, Ingars Viļums/Renārs Kaupers)
oh, we’re talking
we always find a reason to meet
and when we’re talking
all the things are not what they seem
‘cos all we have are years and seconds
and that is how we spend our lives i reckon
we’re building bridges and we’re burning them down
we’re coming back and back and spinning around
all our words are shields and swords
it feels the best when we say nothing at all
that’s all we have
(BrainStorm/Fran Healy)
if I count my fingers
1 to 10
i know there’ll never be a problem
count me out or count me in
i’m never gonna leave your side
i remember we were friends
i could tell you everything
but now we've crossed that line again
staring at the stormy skies
in the rain we break apart
colors bleed into the gutter
death to rainbows death to art
color me into the corners
what we had and could have been
but fate will tell a different story
one without happy ending
it’s time to close the book and cry again
they thought that we were out of love
they never knew we would find each other
we won’t give up till the music stops
they’ll never catch us when we’re dancing
so we step out into the night
the sun is shining
snowflakes upon your eyes
all sparkle as the midnight hour arrives
and suddenly the darkness begins to rise
and all around
the forest has come to life
and wraps itself around us
it’s happy that it found us
it’s turning us into dust
the forest still
there’s static in the air
they’re searching through the streets tonight
i count my fingers
it’s over now
the spirit’s gone
i climb into the bed beside you
the light shines down
the shadow’s long
(BrainStorm/Renārs Kaupers, Rolands Ūdris)
more or less
everyone has a messin
their hearts and heads
we are searching for happiness, happiness
and i lie, and i lie, and i lie to survive again
and i lie, and i lie, and i lie, and i lie
stop if you’re going down
if you wanna take a rest
just for a while
leave the town
you are strong
the road is long
carry on, carry on
we can’t go wrong
no, we can’t go wrong
time goes by
the same look in your eyes
and the same way you smile
are you still searching for happiness
the whole world breaks into pieces
and you can’t get it back anymore
and it slips through your fingers
and you
just try
and you just try
to hold on
no, no, we can’t go wrong
just for a while leave the town
(BrainStorm, Gustavs Butelis, Aleksandr Volk/Renārs Kaupers, Gustavs Butelis, Kristaps Krēsliņš, Hanna Krēsliņš, Raimonds Gusarevs)
when he was a boy
he played with his toys
in the back of the bush
where he once used to hide
he rarely thought
life would follow a plot
to become what his parents
would never find right
dad at his age
had his newspaper rage
never leaving a page
out of his sight
mother was cooking
always good looking
taking her boy to church every sunday
‘cos they wished for their boy all the best in the world
luminous diamonds and sparkling gold, oh Lord
they never forgot to take care of their hope
good looking gardens and fashionable clothes, oh Lord
as the boy got older
took his mom by the shoulder
and this is what he told her:
„i see through your code“
not long after dinner
he felt as a winner
packing his bag
and hitting the road
the parents were grieving
the road it was weaving
uphill to the east
like a tale of a dog
he didn’t look back
at the past that was wack
at least that was something that stuck in his mind
‘cos he thought he knew better what is best in the world
to fill up the sentence with his own words, for sure
he never forgot to take care of his hope
to play his own music with his own chords, for sure
when he was tired and restless
he couldn’t fall asleep
he craved to sail the ocean
others see too deep
his foolishness is lazy
and so is sanity
he saw the world as endless
adventures of the free
so, he didn’t look back
at the past that seemed wack
as he got to the top of the hill he stopped
took a deep breath and ran right before
he jumped into freedom and tasted its glamour
nights that made sick to his stomach
„freeyourmind“ sessions with hippies all summer
he’s been behind bars in stripped pajamas
sang hallelujah and hare rama
he met the pope and dalailamaate with osama and ms. obama
felt the cold in siberia and heat in bahamas
the further he went the more he missed dad&mama
missed dad&mama..
passing the bush
he’s at the door
about to step inside
the house he has left
many years ago
now, the circle is done
like it was his goal
his foolishness was lazy
and so was sanity
the story is over
but then it continues
simply just like they sing in the blues
if no one sends a letter
you were not receiving
you can’t go home
if you were never leaving
(BrainStorm, Gustavs Butelis, Aleksandr Volk/Renārs Kaupers, Raimonds Gusarevs, B Chijioke)
all’s good and peaceful
life flows with no resistance
people are grateful
dogs bark keeping the distance
strong wind is rising
dark clouds above and under
dogs keep on barking
did not they hear the thunder
will we change together or change forever
you can never really tell like changing weather
everybody! everywhere! got a claim to treasure
love and darkness remain but my aim is clever
hear now
thunder fills the space
feel now
sunshine lights your face
high in the mountains
snow falls and melts the darkness
blue river fountains
run to deliver brightness
to deliver brightness
white
it covers everything like snow
the color of my bones
the color of my mind
white rain and those white stones
i follow your sweet sounds
it smells so good around
no fingerprints, no footsteps
just heaven and white ground
a silver moon is shining
my ship is on it’s way
i don’t know if i’m hiding
and what’s the game that i play
the night is sending a promise
the stars are wishing me luck
and i believe that the captain
will steer us out of the dark
out of the dark
there’s no doubt
so, i wait for the spark
between the right and wrong there’s a gap
and that is where the truth lies, they say
no matter what, i won’t give up
and search until the end of my days
the silver moon is setting
my ship’s approaching the sun
and the captain is getting
that the trip soon will be done
well, the morning is crying
this ship was built for dark nights
i agree, so i’m trying
to get out of the light
out of the light
but it’s my pride
that won’t let me hide
my ship’s again on it’s way
now, i know i ain’t hiding
it never had a beginning
and the end can’t be seen
but it’s my life that i’m living
and i’m that captain, that moon and that sea
but at the end of the day
at the end of the day i’m singing:
„between the right and wrong there’s a gap
and search until the end of my days“
(BrainStorm, Gustavs Butelis, Aleksandr Volk/Ken Stringfellow)
like a wandering holy man
i search your traces across the land
my bones are showing right thru my skin
my eyes are opened up from where i've been
if you work out the triangulation
bounce the sonar off the bottom of the seas
in the sky the searchlight's sweeping
in the hope you're coming back to back to me
like strangers, like stars in reverse
blue light is shifting towards me
if I could i'd throw galaxies down
at your feet
beg, i'm begging for your starlight
tell me, when do we come out right?
legs will move in your direction
no saints will give me their protection
‘cos no saints will give me their protection
from the macro to the microscopic
i search for you between every grain of sand
i work your subject into every topic
think time is money? try me, try me, honey
if i could i'd throw galaxies down
‘cos no saints gonna give me their protection
(BrainStorm, Gustavs Butelis, Aleksandr Volk/Maks „Bigoudi“ Sergejev)
have you ever had this feeling
when you're lost and have no meaning
something small and common
makes you heart and soul go spinning
simple things that matter
would you spend this day with me?
my time goes by, days get repeated
i'm fighting fear and rarely beat it
wise people say love's a solution
i seek to make my contribution
have you ever had that moment
when you're dancing with your lover
nearness and warmness
are the gifts you rediscover
would you spend this night with me?
would you live your life with me?
i watch the news, i get judgmental
i'm feeling old, too sentimental
wise people say we can not get far
what do they know about the way things are?
